Last updated 4 July 1996
Cause: This is because of a sub-editing mistake when we printed the manual, which mentions 21 aircraft rather than the 18 actually included.
Solution: The Islander and the Shorts 360 are not part of the game but we may make them available to download from here in the future. The BAe 737 is a misprint, it should read BAe 757. The Hawker Siddley 147 is a misprint and should read HS 146. This leaves 18 aircraft in the game, rather than the 21 mentioned in the manual.
Disk error, error opening file, filename Situation\ChapterX.stn
Error code File Access Denied (05)
Cause: This happens because the file is locked and can't be written to. Most likely you copied the file using DOS rather than the installation routine built into the Flight WebTour.
Solution: In Windows File Manager, highlight the situation files and open their properties. You will find that the Read box is checked. Un-check this and close the properties window, then the file will have Read/Write access. You need to do this for all the files you copied over from the Perfect Flight CD.
Cause: This is caused by the file SIMFS.FS0, part of Flight Shop, being absent from your hard drive. This file is required to load the new aircraft definitions. When you load a chapter, the plane is loaded automatically and the error occurs.
Solution: If you do not want to buy Flight Shop, you can still load the chapters and fly them with the built-in Flight Sim aircraft. To do this, carry out the following procedure:
Solution: Indeed we do! You should contact Computermate Supplies Ltd on 01707 875757. (This phone number is now correct! Our apologies for the previous mistake...)
Solution: An oversight by our publicity department. Perfect Flight is compatible with Flight Sim v5.1 as well as v5.0 and v4.0.
