In February 1994, Watcom joined Powersoft Corporation, the leading vendor of client/server application development tools. In February of 1995, Powersoft and Sybase, Inc. also merged. The new Sybase, in addition to being one of the most respected enterprise client/server software companies, is now the sixth largest software company in the world with a comprehensive product line encompassing Tools, Connectivity and Database. Sybase Waterloo, the former Watcom organization, continues to be a hotbed of technological innovation, with two fast growing and highly successful product lines, the Powersoft Languages Division and the Sybase Workplace Database Division. Recent products developed in Waterloo by these product line groups include Powersoft Optima++ and Sybase SQL Anywhere.
