MainActor v0.80 - OS/2 Screenshot

New Features of v0.80

MainActor will boost your productivity when working with animations. It can perform any possible task in this area, how about: Converting animations ? Creating animations from lists of pictures ? Splitting pictures/sound from animations ? Joining animations ? or how about improving the timeflow ? No problem! MainActor will do all this and far more and better, it will do this in a completely format independent way.

We dont know of any program which is able to process and save more animation formats, due to a completely modular design we can add new modules on the fly. New for the v0.80 release are the Quicktime and Video Data saver modules.

All major animation formats created by MainActor have been compatibility tested on nearly all relevant platforms, like Windows 3.1 / 95 / NT, ActiveMOVIE, OS/2 and MacOS, to ensure that your animations will work everywhere. And better, sound contained in AVI and Quicktime animations is automatically interleaved while saving to ensure the best possible playback from even the slowest hardware (for example CD-Roms).

But there is far more functionality contained in MainActor, like the easy handling of timecodes, the palette editor, the seamless integration of Motion JPEG support for AVI and Quicktime formats, the GIF-Anim saver which makes it possible to convert your animations directly into AnimGIF (with all possible options) and far more.

We try to support as many platforms as possible, currently Windows 95 / NT and OS/2, older versions are also availalable for the Amiga. Possible future platforms are MacOS and different Unix implementations (AIX,. Solaris etc). It is therefore only logical that registered users can use their serial number on all supported platforms.

The future looks bright. We are working on ActiveMOVIE (Windows) and OpenMPEG support (OS/2), MPEG generation, video capturing within MainActor and much more. To keep up with the latest development either monitor this site frequently or subscribe to one of our mailing lists to get the latest information. Also feel free to contact us for help on any specific animation / multimedia problem or suggestion.

The sequencer add-on for MainActor will be able to easily mix audio and video as well as offering a broad range of audio, video and transition effects. However the sequencer will not be ready to be included in MainActor in the very near future.

MPEG-I/II Encoding is now available for registered users. Registered users can email us to request the new MPEG saver module (please state the OS you use). The module is based on the code by MSSG.
