Symptoms

Keyboard doesn't work. Applying fix in Warp Fix Pack # 3 does not fix problem.

Hardware

AMI BIOS 40-P101-001437-00101111-072594-GREEN-H

Problem

Unknown.

Procedure

Boot the machine without the keyboard plugged in. After it boots, plug it in.

Notes

You guys ain't gonna like this fix, but it worked for me.

My problems came about when I switched to a new GREEN-VLB motherboard. I had the same annoying symptoms as the other guys with this type of board. And I also had an old FUJITSU keyboard. Needless to say, I was about to throw the entire PC out the window...

So, I had the idea to let the machine boot WITHOUT the keyboard plugged in. That way the system couldn't get the "BAD" signal back... Then after OS/2 is done loading, one could then plug the keyboard back in. And guess what, it works!!!!!! I got keyboard again!!!

Obviously, this can only be a temporary fix of this problem 'til the real thing comes along. Oh, I also forgot, that IBMKBD.SYS dated 09/01/94 doesn't work on the GREEN-VLB boards (at least mine).

This is an UGLY, UNELEGANT and straight ARCHAIC temporary solution for those of us who need to get this thing atleast working. Now I don't know whether this tactic works for the those having installation problems, but it just might work!
