Our band, pudgy chuck , was formed in the summer of 1991.
After three months of steady rehearsal, we began getting opportunities
to open for national acts at the local bars and clubs. After a years
time we found ourselves as headlining at these same venues. Since then
we have played clubs in Detroit to Val du lakes.
In 1994 we released a four song demo which sold all copies within
a six month period. We then parted ways with the vocalist on that
project. After the long process of auditioning new singers we went
back into the studio in the fall of 1995 to record our current work
The Pounds of Pleasure, which was released in April of 1996.
The music itself is geared towards a heavy groove which most people
find hard to label. We feel we have a unique sound which is very
dissimilar to much of today’s music. We feel our originality is
uncommon in today’s world and are proud of this quality in our sound.
We attract alcohol soaked, adrenaline filled crowds to our shows
and have no problem packing clubs with capacities up to 650.
Some noteworthy act that we have performed with are, Sloan (Geffen),
Tar (Touch and Go), Pegboy (Quarter Stick), Rein Sanction (Sub Pop),
Heatmiser (Frontier), Mule (Touch and Go), Prong (Epic), Godflesh
(Earache), Cher UK (Red Decibel), and GindStone artists The Obvious.
Just to name a few. We have appeared on two compilation CDs - The
first Amalgamate 101 (Pulse Records), the second WGRD’s
Radio Active (Due in stores late November).
In conclusion, we have begun writing material for our next project and
are currently seeking booking and recording contracts. We are excited
about a career in the music industry and we thank you for your
consideration.
