Who we are:
Jim, Denise, and Iona live with a variable number of cats and uncounted squirrels in Greenville NH . Jim works as a programmer/consultant at SkillSoft Corp. in Nashua, NH. He writes and maintains code for Web-based instructional software for corporate instruction. (Jim's Resume). Among his consuming passions at the moment is working-class history and politics, including the work of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) and the Shorter Work Time Group. , Singing with friends, the Milford NH Second Friday Song Circle.
Co-hosting a weekly labor-related radio show ("Thinking Out Loud", Wednesdays nine to noon on WJUL, 91.5FM, Lowell, MA), and action to end sweatshop labor, are other passions.

Denise currently works at Mason NH Public Library, and writes and volunteers in Greenville and neighboring towns. She also works part time at The Meeting School a Quaker altenative High School in Rindge NH. Iona is an honors student at Boynton Middle School and acts at Andy's Summer Playhouse in Wilton, NH. She was involved in Greenville's "French Club" in 1996-97, an attempt to revive the teaching of French language and culture in this town that once had bilingual public schools. In 1997, she was part of the cast of "Brenda Starr, Reporter", July 17-27 at Andy's. This year she is returned to Andy's in "This Island Earth", July 17-26, 1998.

SING! There is a gathering of people who like to sing together on the second Friday of each month at the Unitarian Church in Milford NH at 7:30 p.m. We use the "Rise up Singing" book published by "Sing Out" Magazine, but if you have a song you'd like to share or teach, feel free to bring along copies of the words and/or guitar chords. Bring musical instruments for rhythm or accompaniment. If you just want to sing us a song (with a chorus we can join in on, maybe) that's great. Just come ready to sing! Send me email for further information.

My friend, Wobbly organizer and folk singer U. Utah Philips (a.k.a. Bruce Philips) is having serious health problems. To find out how he's doing and what you can do to help, click here .

Also Utah's Friend, folk singer Rosalie Sorrels is sick and needs help getting through. Contact Passim Coffee House in Cambridge for details on a May 22 benefit, or send some money to Rosalie Sorrels Recovery Fund, P.O. Box 1204, Boise ID 83701 Some interesting Web links that I know and love:

Share the Wealth, and United for a Fair Economy
The top 1 percent of Americans own half the wealth! Their income rises rocket-like, while ours stagnates or declines. Let's change this absurd inequality! Tax the Rich!! Better yet, let those who do all the work share all the benefits that our work makes possible!

Thanks for dropping by, friends!
