Demo Version

As I sit back in my chair downloading Curse of the Dragor Demo, I wondered what kind of game it was. According to the name, it could be everything! Ah well, downloaded and unstuffed I opened the folder. The very first thing i thought of, was that there were no PPC-optimized version, only one 68k version. Maybe I'd downloaded the wrong version, and with this in mind i double-clicked the symbol with a castle. A picture of the retail box and a loading-bar appears, and apparently it works fine on Powermac too as well as 68k. As the loading-bar finished, the menu appears, and I choose New Game instantly. Now to what surpriced me, it is an RPG, since the first thing you do is to customize four characters! Usually I hate doing this, but in this game it is no big deal, and in less than five minutes I'm ready to play. Before I go berserk with my team, a wizard appers telling me my mission. After reading, I start in the dungeon. This is the kind of game where you walk around with a small window in the middle showing your environment, and around the window portraits of your characters showing health etc. I go around exporing, and all of a sudden a giant spider attacks me! Since I thought that each enemy had its turn, I waited and looked for an attack button. While doing this, the spider attacks over and over and thn I realize that two of my characters are dead! Damn! I find the attack button and kill the spider. Since the demo isnt big at all, I have soon killed all three enemies and finished the game.

When I start thinking about grading this demo, the first thing I think about is the playability. I would never play through a whole game of this type. Maybe it's just me but I feel uncomfortable with this type of games. Even though this is my opinion, the game seems very good in graphic and ease. Sounds, killing enemies, opening doors etc is nice done. So, there isnt really anything to complain about... Conclusion: Even though I dont like this kind of game, many other sure will. The authors of the game have been creative and if you like this gametype, you have to check it out!
