AX68K | Download | r000103 | 1/3/99 | Win9X | This emulator is the only real competition to EX68 right now, since it's the only X68000 emulator being updated regularly. Both source code and binaries are included in the zip. |
EX68 | Download Download (Win95 patched version) |
1.06 | 6/5/99 | Windows 95 | This 16-bit Japanese computer system was created by Sharp in 1986. Sold only
in Japan, it had the best Arcade ports around, with many games available for it. It wasn't just good
for games, it had great programs that you could use with it. This emulator does a great job of
emulating the X68000, and even has FM and MIDI port sound emulation. It is, however, rather slow,
and is in Japanese. The X68000 boot roms required by EX68 can be downloaded from here.
For more information on the X68000, this
X68 page is a great resource.
This is a version with a small crack made by TyRaNiD of #x68000 that lets you actually use the emulator, hehe. I know it might sound strange, but if you download only the archive listed above this one you will most probably have a really really hard time getting the emulator up and running. Once you've unzipped this one, run ex68crk and then double click on yamama.reg and you're ready to go. You should use the Win95 patched version if you are running a non-asian version of Windows 95. If you are using Windows 98 you don't need this file. Please keep in mind that this archive only contains an executable, you still need the complete Ex68 1.06 archive. This English patch translates all the options in the options menu. If you can't read Japanese you will need this one to understand what you're doing when you're configuring it, hehe. You will need these bootroms and the patched version of the emulator to actually get anything up and running. |
