Amazon is approved for a patent on the technology behind their affiliate program. Wow, this really has the potential to shake things up a bit. Will software patents like this destroy internet commerce?

yes, but only if they are not challenged... the internet companies that the patent affects should band together and fight this...

our patent system is so out of touch it is unbelievable.!!!!

NoWebPatents.org has joined the boycott of Amazon.com and is estimating the cost to Amazon. You can sign up for the boycott and add your spending to the total. The goal is to encourage Amazon.com to put these critical patents into the public domain by translating the outrage into their financial loss.
