Born in the heart of Detroit, CIRCLE OF KUNFUSION was formed by vocalist Mike Grimes out of the remains of Stitch. Soon after guitarist Gary Ludwig came aboard and created the first incarnation of Circle's signature guitar crunch. The two began to write with the early members but soon realized that what was being laid on the table left a lot to be desired. There was no "click" between the other members. Not yet at least.

Drummer Rick Williams joined the band after leaving area band Proud and soon after, the "click" was unmistakable. Circle began writing and playing around town with great early success. They soon built a large local following and performed many local shows, as well as opened for a long list of National acts including; , STUCK MOJO, SNOT, MACHINE HEAD, BIOHAZARD, H-BLOCK and many others.

After a few line up changes, in came the bass player only know as "B". B completed Circle's current and final line-up in March of 1998 opening doors to new styles of music with his diverse background and wide range of technical skills.

Since then, CIRCLE OF KUNFUSION has been nothing but unstoppable both in town and regionally playing in Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio, as well as upcoming dates in New York and along the east coast.
