NEON GENESIS EVANGELION The Movie
DEATH AND REBIRTH
Premiered March 19, 1997

DR

This film is comprised of two parts: "EVANGELION:DEATH", a digest of the first 24 episodes of the TV series, and"EVANGELION:REBIRTH", which ends the story differently from the TV series. Through an original editing process which jumps back and forth through the story's timeline, DEATH provides viewers with an experience that goes beyond a mere digest. In REBIRTH, NERV begins its battle to the death with the Strategic Self-Defense Forces, and their controllers, SEELE. And neither Shinji nor Asuka are able to recover from the damage their psyches have sustained...
Masayuki, director of the DEATH segment, has personally reedited it, and in this version it will be included as "EVANGELION: DEATH (TRUE)".

NEON GENESIS EVANGELION The Movie
THE END OF EVANGELION
Air (Love Is Destructive)/For You, My Pure Heart (I Need You)
Originally Released July 19, 1997

EOE

The series finale, this film picked up where "EVANGELION:REBIRTH" left off. Comprising Episode 25, "Air (Love Is Destructive)", and Episode 26, "For You, My Pure Heart (I Need You)", the film at last depicts the story's biggest unsolved mystery, "The Instrumentality Project". And what did Shinji find at the Project's conclusion...?
