Subject: [BRIGADE] NLP on Credentials Committee
Dear Brigade,
Mangia and Verney have stated they will prevent this
nomination of Pat Buchanan by stone-walling in the
Credentials Committee -- essentially wasting so much time
that the pro-Buchanan delegates will have to return home
before casting their vote for Pat.
Verney's Crew leader on the Credentials Committee is Dot
Drew. She has usurped authority to put 5 Natural Law Party
members on the committee. Why do members of the NLP get
to sit on the Reform Party's Credentials Committee?
I think this needs to be taken care of on August 8th. Please
forward to all Reformers.

Subject: InsideReform - Credentials Committee
On Sunday, July 9, 2000, I was designated as the Chair of the
Credentials Committee with the responsibility of selecting the
committee members.
To insure that both candidates for our party's presidential
nomination have complete trust in the fair and impartial work of
the credentials committee, I am appointing five members of the
committee from a list of nominees provided by the John
Hagelin campaign. These members will serve with the four
current members who are partial to Pat Buchanan. I have
asked Tim Hailey of the Buchanan campaign to provide me
with a list of names so I can choose one additional Buchanan
representative. As soon as I receive this list, I will add the
additional member. Each campaign will have five
representatives along with the five long time Reform Party
members on the committee.
I have appointed Pat Benjamin to serve as Vice Chair of the
Committee to insure continuity of the committee work at all
times.
Every member of the party as well as the public can be sure
that all decisions reached by the credentials committee will be
based on the merits of the issues brought before the
committee.
The Principles of Reform require each of us to set the "highest
ethical standards." The Credentials Committee will live up to
that obligation. As a reminder, the Credentials Committee will
begin its work at 9:00am, Wednesday, August 9, 2000 in Long
Beach. Please schedule your travel plans accordingly and
advise me via email or phone your arrival time in Long Beach
and the name of your hotel accomodations.
Welcome to the new members and thanks to all of you for your
work and continued participation.
