Subject: [BRIGADE] Recall of June Spink
Dear Brigade,
Have you contacted your state leadership to find out where
they stand? Will your Regional Representative attend the
Executive Committee meeting in Dallas this weekend?
Read the release from Bob Bevill concerning his New England
Regional Rep., June Spink. Feel free to forward to all and ask
for comment.

Subject: Recall of June Spink
Date sent: Fri, 28 Jul 100 15:13:32 -0500 (CDT)
To National Committee Members, New England Region:
It has come to my attention, that an illegal meeting of the
Executive Committee is being called for this Saturday, July 29,
2000. The purpose of this meeting is to attempt to disqualify
Pat Buchanan from the mail-in ballot -- among other things.
Acting Chairman Gerald Moan will not be attending this
meeting, and has released a statement, stating that he will not
be participating in this charade.
Also on the agenda, the illegal meeting plans to block the
recall of several Regional Representatives, conducted over the
past few months.
Please remember that both Sue Harris DeBauche, and Jim
Mangia, have been ordered by Judge Moon, to cease and
desist from any involvement with the Reform Party. It is Sue
Harris DeBauche's husband, Ron Young, who the National
Reform Party is suing to recover several hundreds of thousands
of dollars, misappropriated during his tenure as Treasurer of the
RPUSA.
Please contact June Spink, at june1@home.com , and tell her
what your state feels about this illegal meeting. I do not wish
to tell you, what you should say to her. I leave that to your
conscience, and our party's posterity.
Suffice to say, that if June Spink attends this meeting on
Saturday, I will personally call each of you, and demand that
she be recalled. Look folks, the media is already making us
look foolish, and this meeting would be the complete
destruction of our party -- nothing less.
If you have any questions, or would like for me to send you any
documentation that corroborates my position, please call me
at 603-674-6053.
Sincerely,
Bob Bevill
Secretary, RPNH
Alternate Delegate, RPUSA 2000 Convention

Fellow Reformers;
You all have a right to know why I will not attend Saturday's
meeting in Dallas.
1. Notice -
As you are aware this meeting was sent by email to some
members of the Excom on Monday evening at 6:51PM (Pacific
time) on Monday evening. That is 5 days notice. As you read
the latest Excom minutes you will see that a good portion of
discussion of other matters centers on proper and "reasonable"
notice. On other occasions, certain members of the Excom
consider 7-10days or anything less than 30 days notice as
unreasonable. I will accept that premise for this meeting as
well.
2. Membership -
As many of you are aware, there is a dispute as to the legal
membership of the excom. Some consider Paul Truax and Lou
Anne Jones as legitimate members, others like myself
consider Kelly Abt and Tim Hallinan as the members newly
elected by their region.
I have chosen to abide by the wishes of the members of those
regions, members who have the right to expect their
representatives to act in accordance with the will of those they
represent. They chose to act within the letter and the spirit of
the RPUSA Constitution. Some of these same people have
consistantly espoused that the members rights are the only
unalienable rights as accorded by the "democracy coalition"
and placed within the language of the RPUSA Constitution. It
seems hollow rhetoric at this juncture because the members of
those regions have spoken, overwhelmingly.
3. Precedent -
In the past, meetings of the Excom have taken place by
phone. One reason was expense to the members, what could
be done in person that couldn't be done by phone and not cost
each of us up to $1000 to travel to Dallas a week and 1/2 prior
to the convention? If an in person meeting was so important,
why not meet August 5th and 6th in Long Beach just prior to
the convention? That could have served 2 purposes, convention
site inspection and the balance of the agenda. Changing a
discounted airfare has to be alot less costly than a 1 day ticket
to Dallas.
4. - NatCom meeting.
The members of the NatCom have called a meeting for the 8th
of August, why the need to be even more confrontational to this
body, a higher governing body. Given the fissures in the party
that may be the sole intent. Whatever is done at this meeting
will surely be reviewed by the Natcom at their meeting.
Whatever transpires at this meeting will lack sufficient
membership (more than 5) to offer up any binding decisions on
the absent 5. I'm sure the media will be most interested in
beating us up and I'm sure some attendees will continue to flail
away to insure the destruction of the Party, which may be the
ultimate goal.
