Linda,
I thought you might be interested in a field report from the
Verney Crew's meeting in Dallas.
This poor attempt at an Executive Committee meeting began
on a great note as they spent about an hour debating how they
could punish Midwest Region Rep. Cedric Scofield for not
attending this joke. They decided to sit some fictional
alternate in his place and then went on to sit two "members"
who were removed by their National Committee members
weeks ago.
I am sure you won't be shocked to know that Jim Mangia has
appointed himself the high commander of all removal attempts
and said that the National Committee votes to remove LuAnne
Jones and Paul Truax somehow did not meet with his approval
so he decided to overrule the National Committee members.
They then passed a resolution to censure Chairman Moan and
our National Treasurer for not attending their dinner party.
They followed this up with a motion saying that the Reform
Party members are to stupid to choose their own Presidential
nominee and so they decided for the good of all of us idiots
they would declare Pat Buchanan to be off of the primary ballot
and to award the primary victory to John Hagelin.
Considering this all lasted about four hours I hope you
understand that our little group had to leave to attend to our
more important business such as heading out for a few drinks
and a whole bunch of laughter.
The desperation on their faces throughout this whole meeting
was very comical. Even though they do provide comic relief I
will be glad when the National Committe meets to get rid of
this bunch once and for all.
