Donovan Tricks Hagelin Supporter

Subject: [BRIGADE] Donovan Tricks Hagelin Supporter

Dear Brigade,

The following tells how Donna Donovan tried to trick a CT
Hagelin supporter. This lays out a perfect example of the
despicable actions of the Verney Wrecking Crew -- a
nationwide Reign of Terror that has lasted for too many years.

To them, it does not matter whether its Hagelin, Buchanan,
Ventura, Gargan or Lamm -- or their supporters. The Crew has
cheated, deceived, and manipulated Reformers. They have
distorted the truth, and schemed to achieve their bottom line --
retaining power.

On August 8th, the National Committee meeting will begin the
process to end their Reign of Terror. By the close of
Convention, the Bells of Freedom will ring.

PS -- Do you know what Perot-Verney have in mind for the
Reform Party? I do. Stand by.

To: linda@buchanan.org

Donovan got caught today. She tried to spam her rumor mill
once again with "misrepresentations of the truth."

Here's what happened. This week we blocked her appointment
of an innocent woman, Nancy McKay, a Hagelin supporter, to
the delegation by calling Donovan on the rules.

Donovan retaliated in a phone message to me accusing me of
being the origin of the block (I plead guilty, with the help of
Scott Leone and Richard Green.)

She then completely misrepresented McKay saying that Leone
and Green were ugly, harrassing and threatening McKay if she
accepted the nomination. I copied the quote to the committee
and asked Donovan why McKay would have thanked Leone
and Green if she had been so threatened.

Then I received McKay's original e-mail to Leone. Today,
McKay gave her final response to Donovan and the committee.

This is a mild example of how Donovan has reigned with terror
here. One committee member told a friend that they are afraid
she will cross them and then ruin them. This is how so many
have good people have resigned and left the party.

Some of the less enlightened on the committee are beginning
to see what's been going on.

I am copying the related e-mails:

Subject: Thank You!!

Hi Scott,
I have to thank you again for contacting me and clueing me in
on the current state of affairs within the CT Reform Party. You
have saved me from a lot of wasted time, energy and
disillusionment.

It is apparent to me that you are a dedicated, fair minded
person who honors the democratic process; one who would
honestly represent his constituents even if their agenda differed
from your own. That speaks volumes about your character
and I am sure any government seat would be greatly enhanced
by your election to it.

And thank you for your referring me to Richard. I look forward
to getting to know other good people that have left the Reform
Party and I will certainly put others in touch with you if the
need arises.

Thank you, again, Scott, and I'll be in touch.

Sincerely,
Nancy McKay

Dear Donna,

It has come to my attention that there is no legal vacancy in
the Connecticut Reform Party's 3rd district. I have spoken
with Scott Leone and Richard Green and they have both
shared with me pertinent information about the 3rd district's
delegate status.

The information they provided me was this:

1. That the legal authority to appoint a successor to Mr. Leone
for this delegate position rested with Mr. Leone and the
Hamden Town Committee and not the state's Reform Party
central committee.

2. Mr. Leone has appointed Mr. Floyd Atchely as his
successor in this position. Mr. Atchely is going to the Reform
Party's National Convention in Long Beach representing the
same delegate position that I have been told was vacant.

If this information is true, I feel I was approached to fill this
alleged vacancy under false pretenses. I would have been
unknowingly and unwillingly facing a controversy in Long
Beach next week in which there is a strong likelihood that I
would not be recognized there as the 3rd district's delegate.
Therefore, a lot of time and money would have been wasted in
sending me out there.

There is obviously some in-party fighting going on here, and
that is not the kind of politics I wish to be involved in. I would
like to hear what you have to say in response to this, however,
I have decided to withdraw my name from consideration in
fulfilling this alleged vacancy in the Reform Party's 3rd district.

My goal is for John Hagelin to win the presidential nomination
for the Reform, Green and Natural Law Parties, but in reaching
that goal I will not take part in any action that subverts the
democratic process or even gives the appearance of
impropriety.

I regret that this situation has taken place. I know we both
agree that now is the time for a strong third party coalition to
reform government and that John Hagelin is the right candidate
to lead this cause and our nation. For me, in order to achieve
this goal while keeping in alignment with my personal spiritual
beliefs, I choose to focus my political support for Hagelin
directly through the Natural Law Party organization.

Sincerely,
Nancy A. McKay

Dear Nancy, it is unfortunate you have been given incorrect
information. Scott Leone was the District Rep/Delegate in
District 3. He not only resigned from his position, but is also
involved in the formation of another party, the Freedom Party,
which is currently petitioning to put Pat Buchanan on the ballot
on their line in Connecticut in November.

Mr. Green, who is a militia supporter, has been in and out of
our party so many times it could make your head spin. And
because of his devisive and destructive ways, we don't want
him...his purpose is to tear down, not to build. Mr. Atchley,
who is also engaged in the Freedom Party effort on behalf of
Mr. Buchanan, resigned from the party even before

Mr. Leone did (I have their letters of resignation should there be
any question), and his wife is serving as an elector on their
petition. These people, however, continue to practice the
politics of destruction when it comes to our political movement,
which we are committed to building based on the "highest
moral and ethical standards."

I understand why you may feel that you don't want to be
involved because of this confrotation. It is unpleasant to deal
with, I agree. I, however, have made the choice that working to
let new, principled voices be heard on the political scene is a
positive spiritual choice.

John is in Colorado today. I will call him and ask him to see if
we can find someone else in order to prevent Mr. Atchley from
illegally claiming the 3rd District seat. Thank you, Nancy, and
all the very best to you.

Dear Donna,

You left me a voice mail in which you indicated that Nancy
McKay had a conversation with Scott Leone and Richard
Green. You said they "really were ugly and basically harassed
and threatened her."

I am not sure what to make of this situation, as I sit here
reading an e-mail dated August 1st from Nancy to Scott in
which she thanks him for his help. If he had been ugly,
harrassing and threatening, then why is she thanking him?

Maybe you should simply communicate with Scott directly on
this matter.

Best regards,

Subject: CT RP 3rd District Delegate

Dear Donna,

As you have requested, I have spent time re-considering my
decision to withdraw from consideration from the RP 3rd
district delegate position. I know this is an excellent
opportunity to show my support for Dr. John Hagelin, by
helping give him the great media exposure he deserves by
winning the RP nomination. I voted for John Hagelin in 1996,
and I think he is an excellent presidential candidate.

However, due to the controversies I have previously discussed
with you, I do not feel right in being a part of this political
activity. Therefore, I stand by my original decision to withdraw
which was sent to you in an email dated 8/1.

I do want to clarify here that the tone of my conversations with
both Scott Leone and Richard Green have been respectful and
professional. None of these gentlemen ever told me to stop
my activities in becoming a delegate, harass or intimidate me.

Both of these men appear to be fair, committed, reform minded
people - regardless of whom they support politically, I have
respect for them.

I am sorry that I cannot help you and the CT Reform Party in
this particular way. I wish you all the best and hope you have
a great time at the national convention.

Sincerely,
Nancy McKay
Clinton, CT
