Note to the Brigade:
The following was a letter I just sent to the Christian Coalition in response to their latest mailing/donation request. I'd urge those of you who share my thoughts and beliefs to let these type of organizations know that the greatest assets to their cause are Pat Buchanan and the members of the Brigade. Let's spread the word!!!
Christian Coalition,
You may be wondering why the Christian Coalition’s membership has fallen in recent years. As a former Coalition supporter, donor, and activist, I may be able to shed some light on the subject. In my estimation, you lost your core support when the organization showed itself willing to sell it’s soul for greater influence in the Republican Party. You’ve gone soft on abortion and you are trying to rally support around “status quo - establishment” candidates. George W. Bush Jr. and John McCain should have received a message from the Christian Coalition (in no uncertain terms) that they will NOT enjoy your support if they are not willing to make protecting all human life a litmus test for Supreme Court nominees.
The last straw for me were the comments made by Pat Robertson concerning Pat Buchanan. If there were ever a loyal candidate to the causes “supposedly” near and dear to the Christian Coalition, it is Patrick J. Buchanan. I have left the GOP because although I’m impressed with Allen Keyes and Gary Bauer, the fix is in for George W. Bush Jr. Patrick Buchanan is the best vehicle for moving forward a truly conservative, family friendly national agenda. That is where I intend to devote my time, money and efforts.
You can cease with the e-mails, donations letters, and other mailings you send me until you move your organization in the direction of principled and consistent conservative activism. I realize you can’t endorse candidates but I believe you could immediately get back my support and the support of countless others if you were to take a more pro-active approach to the candidacy of Patrick J. Buchanan.
Sincerely,
John Stevens - Military
