Playing with Lego is always fun, but keep the races in your imagination

| The colorful tracks and standard powerups don't really save the racing portion of this game. |
|
In this simplistic racing game that follows all the mascot racing conventions, the ability to build and race your own Lego car is almost worth the price of admission. First you build your character, then your car. Building on a simple frame you have hundreds of blocks to choose and place anywhere you want on your vehicle. The blueprint you have to work with is a set size, which means you can't have a car sixty feet wide, but the title still gives you a great deal of flexibility. The racing engine, however, will appeal only to the very young and the very forgiving. Bad physics, lackluster levels, and uninspired powerups make the game less than fun. We recommend Racers only to the biggest Lego-maniacs.
