Sybergen Networks Introduces First Solution to Combine Security and Access Policy Management through a Centralized Interface

New Sybergen Management Server Is Latest Addition to Software Family that Enables Rapid Deployment and Administration of Secure Internet Access Policy

Fremont, CALIF. -Dec. 7, 1999- Sybergent Networks today announced an open, flexible suite of software products that integrates security and Internet access management into one solution with centralized policy management. Sybergen's family of products is the first and only software solution designed to address the Internet access and security needs of desktop, telecommuter and mobile users. Businesses, resellers and service providers can utilize this solution to create custom, secure Internet access management services to offer internal departments or external customers.

The Sybergen Platform is the foundation technology that integrates Sybergen's products and enables rapid deployment of services. Sybergen's software products built on this platform include: Sybergen Management Server ™, a central access and security policy administrator; Sybergen Secure Desktop ™, a secure access client; Sybergen Access Server ™, a secure Internet access solution for business environments; and Sybergen SyGate® for Home Office, a shared Internet access solution for homes.

Sybergen Product Family

• Sybergen Management Server Provides central administration for configuring and enforcing security and access policies for the entire network of users in the areas of Internet access, security controls, network and security troubleshooting and bandwidth management. Can be configured to block access, notify appropriate personnel and identify the intruder when a security breach occurs. Designed for internal corporate help desks, network control centers and third-party service bureaus including Internet service providers (ISPs), application service providers (ASPs) and resellers. Available in early 2000.
• Sybergen Secure Desktop (formerly SyShield). Provides an intrusion defense package that protects all Windows-based corporate network systems and users when accessing the Internet. Sybergen Secure Desktop detects incoming attacks, prevents them from succeeding and can be configured to launch countermeasures to identify would-be intruders on any Windows NT, 95 and 98 system. Protects telecommuters and mobile users when outside the firewall and corporate users from internal attacks. Pricing is $29.95/seat.
• Sybergen Access Server (formerly SyAccess). Offers cost-effective, flexible Internet access sharing management capabilities for small- to medium-sized business networks. Supports VPN routing capability, allowing multiple client computers to communicate with a wide variety of external VPN servers. Compatible with all access technologies. Pricing is $699.95/server. • Sybergen SyGate for Home Office Provides shared Internet access for home networks. Tiered pricing begins at $39.95.
