Network’s Secure Internet Access Software, SyGate, Helps
Improve Employee Efficiency While Protecting Valuable Assets
from Hacker Attacks
Fremont,
California -August 7, 2000- Sybergen
Networks, the leading provider of secure Internet access
management solutions, today revealed how the successful,
year-long implementation of SyGate is helping a leading
nonprofit organization, The Center for Hearing Speech and
Language, to benefit from the Internet. Using SyGate, the
leading secure Internet access software, the Center has
connected 16 of its employees’ workstations to the Internet,
sharing its single DSL connection. Furthermore, SyGate’s
embedded firewall keeps all of these workstations safe from
hacker attacks, protecting the Center’s valuable information
assets.
"By
setting up Internet sharing, we also now have a de facto
computer network, which allows us to use more sophisticated
software only available for networked systems," said
Nathan Hall, general manager, Sound Solutions Industrial
Division, The Center for Hearing Speech and Language. "The
combination of sharing and better software has resulted
in increased employee efficiency by decreasing paperwork
and other attributes of our employee’s workloads. We are
very pleased with the results we have achieved with SyGate."
"The
Center is a perfect example of the type of organization
that can benefit from our easy-to-use and economical secure
Internet access sharing solution," said Chris Guo,
founder and president, Sybergen Networks. "Because
the software is easy to install and requires little maintenance,
it has a low cost of ownership – an important attribute
for non-profit organizations. We are pleased the Center
has seen such great results from SyGate."
The
Center uses SyGate to give Internet access to its employees,
from the Executive Director to the secretary. "Our
users, many of whom have limited computer skills, have found
the software easy to use," continued Hall. "We
are very pleased with its performance, and have had no problems
that would require contacting technical support." The
software runs on Gateway Pentium-based PCs.
