Sybergen Networks Releases SyGate 3.0

New user interfaces makes SyGate even easier to install and use making it the user-friendliest Internet sharing software on the market.

Fremont, California, March 22, 1999 -- Sybergen Networks, Inc. has announced the release of its state-of-the-art Internet sharing software -- SyGate 3.0. SyGate 3.0 is designed and developed to provide an ideal solution for the SOHO users to create and manage their network. User’s interaction with any system configuration related task has been kept to a minimum level. On the top of easiness of SyGate 2.0 it provides users with software that is even easier to install and use.

New Features in Version 3.0

SyGate 3.0 has a new intuitive graphical user interface that any Windows user can navigate. The improved installation process allows users to installs SyGate in minutes and usually requires no additional configuration (no need to set up TCP/IP parameters, no need to open the Control Panel). The newly added SyGate Diagnostics feature verifies your system components during installation and anytime during operation to help identify configuration or connection problems and ensures that SyGate runs smoothly.

SyGate 3.0 introduces SyGate client component that can optionally be installed on any Windows workstation in the local network. The SyGate Client enables users to remotely monitor and manage the SyGate Server from any workstation on the TCP/IP network.

SyGate 3.0 can be configured to prevent access to certain undesirable web sites ("black list" sites), as well as restrict access to only certain desirable web sites ("white list" sites). This password-protected feature allows parents to determine suitable web content for their children.

While other Internet sharing software do not protect the computer it runs on, SyGate 3.0’s Enhanced Security provides a port blocking mechanism to protect that computer as well.

Price and Availability

SyGate 3.0 is priced from $39.95 for three user license up to $299.95 for unlimited user license. It is available for purchase through a secure online web server by using VISA, MASTER and America Express. The full functional trial version is available for free downloading from our web site located at www.sygate.com and almost all the popular shareware sites such as www.winfiles.com, www.tucows.com, www.download.com, etc.

License Sizes and Version Upgrade

The license sizes for SyGate 3.0 have changed. The following changes have taken place with the release of SyGate 3.0:

  • With the release of SyGate 3.0, license sizes now include the connection from the SyGate PC itself. For example, a three user SyGate 2.0 license size would be equivalent to a "four user" SyGate 3.0 license size.
  • Two new license sizes have been introduced: 10 and 25 users.

SyGate 2.0 users who registered within a year can get a free upgrade to SyGate 3.0. They can just download the trial version SyGate 3.0 and use their 2.0 code to turn this trial version into full version. 3 users SyGate 2.0 code can still provide sharing for three client PCs and one SyGate PC.
