Sybergen Networks Releases Sybergen Mobile Workforce Solution to Secure the Extended Enterprise

Fremont, CALIF. -May 1, 2000- Sybergen Networks™ today announced the release of the Sybergen Mobile Workforce Solution, a product suite comprised of Sybergen Management Server™ 1.0 and Sybergen Secure Desktop™ 2.1. The suite of products integrates security and Internet access management into one solution with centralized policy management.

Enterprise IT organizations are realizing that mobile workers can endanger the security of entire corporate networks. When mobile workers are on the road outside the protection of the corporate firewall and they access information from the Internet and other outside resources, their systems are open to attack. With roughly a third of corporate workers operating remotely, IT staffs must take a more proactive approach to managing this group of workers and the huge potential security threat that this growing mobile workforce poses.

The Sybergen Mobile Workforce Solution secures mobile workers’ computers transparently while providing IT staffs with the ability to establish, monitor and analyze mobile security policy. Sybergen Secure Desktop is a local enforcement agent that resides on each client system to monitor and prevent hacker attempts when the system is connected to a network or the Internet. The Web browser interface gives IT personnel an easy to use interface from any location. Creates multiple IT user accounts with different privileges (administrative, provisioning or monitoring rights).

Sybergen Secure Desktop 2.1 now enables enterprise operation while adding several new capabilities for individual use. It features an intuitive, user-friendly interface as well as immediate notification of possible intrusion threats, integrated application-level policy and trusted IP. It runs on Windows 95/98/2000 and NT systems.

Pricing and availability:  Sybergen Secure Desktop 2.1 is available from resellers and Sybergen.com for trial test and for purchase at a suggested retail price of $29.95 per computer.The combined Sybergen Management Server and Sybergen Secure Desktop solution are available for enterprise licensing starting at $60 per node.
