Message: | When I lived and worked in Manhattan, my favorite thing to have with morning coffee was a dark cupcake that looked like chocolate but was in fact "a spice cake" that was covered with a dark chocolate frosting. Anyone know what I'm talking about and whether anyplace out here sells them? They were so incredibly delicious. That and "black and white" cookies but I've found a really good one at the bakery at Junior's on Westwood Blvd. Also miss "checkerboard" layer cake-only place I've found for that is at a bakery on Fairfax-forgot the name. Finally anyone make a really good "pain au chocolat" - not the horrible "choclate croissants" at places like Ralph's etc. thanks, jeff
