Message: | I lived in Wiesbaden 4 years courtesy of Uncle Sam, and I hunt for German restaurants in this country. I've even made special trips to try restaurants; for example, I was in Chicago and took a day to go to Milwaukee (very disappointing). For my money, the best German restaurant in this country is Knoll's. There's nothing to touch it. Not your wurst and sauerkraut, but real food. The maultaschen and potato salad are especially great, and I have a fetish for their spargel. I've patronized them for more than 30 years. They can easily handle a party of your size. BUT, $15? Not a chance. Very pricy. Owners are Herr (chef) and Frau Knoll. Their son, Roland, is gradually taking over the business. Very nice people. Call and tell them your needs. Guten appetit.
