I realize it is too late for your need of the moment, but the best Studio City restaurant at plausible prices is Emmanuelle (sp), an American Bistro owned by Tom Munoz, the former head chef and co-owner of Joe Joe's in Sherman Oaks. He's now on his own, and it really shows. Sushi at Katsu Ya is a revelation at modest (for sushi)prices. The new Tournesol, the former Portofino, is very good, but priced like Pinot Bistro. Have heard some good things about Cafe Ruffino. La Loggia is always good, albeit a bit more expensive as well.
