Satang Thai, in a little minimall on Woodman at
the corner of Roscoe and Woodman. It has been there for years, and is still very good.Small, basic menu, but also lists Southern Thai Specialties,
We just had a quick snack last night. First a wonderful Tom Kha Kai...( $6 for Huge Bowl)
Light Chickeny coconut broth, FRESH herbs, ( galanga, kafir leaf, lemon grass, cilantro) Not dried like some places try to get away with!!
And we had the Catfish salad ($5)which is a crunchy airy fried puff of shredded catfish on a salad of shredded apple, onion,toasted cashews, spicy sour sweet dressing. Very good.
Also I have tried the Larb at a little place called Khun Khai further on Roscoe towards the 170 freeway. It was really good . I would go back to try more items there also.
In the same minimall by Khun Khai there was a Florist that had a handwritten sign in the window advertising classes in Thai Vegetable carving!!.
In the same block as Satang Thai one has a choice of Michoacan Tacos, Armenian Bakery, Phillipine foods, it is amazing .
