For dim sum, go east from Long Beach into Wesminster to Seafood Paradise on Bolsa, east of Beach Blvd. It's either at the corner of Bushard or Newland; I can't remember which. They have everything, and it's all very fresh.
 
In Long Beach, Frenchy's Bistro on Anaheim west of Ximeno is excellent. Owners are from Provence. Open for lunch also.
