Message: | The room is terrific (if you like the arch of the Getty, you'd probably love this room), it's all tones of white and beige, very stark but elegant. Our server was slightly less attentive as the evening progressed, but it was extremely busy (every table was full). I started with a mushroom salad with duck that was very good. I then had New Zealand Lamb (prepared 3 different ways, the Osso Bucco preparation was the best), it was served with some beautiful beans and veggies. My husband had an orange pumpkin soup to start that was very good and Squab with a side of polenta. He enjoyed the unique taste of the squab. Our friend had the squab and his wife had scallops. Sorry I can't go into more detail, unless I have the menu in front of me, I'm no good. It was about $55 per person, one person had an alcholic drink and one person had a dessert. The entree prices were between $20-$32 and the starters were between $8-$14. The food was very good, not terrific. I seem to be now comparing every high-end meal to Melisse as if Melisse is my new standard for perfection. The room is gorgeous, and so is the view so I think it would be great for lunch as the prices would be more reasonable & the daylight would certainly inhance the view.
