Message: | How do you equate my not putting my email address on this posting to my not having provided financial support for Chowhound? That seems a bit presumptuous. Not that I would accuse any Chowhounders of being spammers, or worse, but I prefer at this time by simply identifying myself with a "handle" rather publishing my email address here.
Since there is no registration process for the Chowhound web site (in terms of being a prerequsite
for accessing the message boards), there does not seem to me to be any mechanism which would prevent someone who is posting a message to simply post a bogus email address, or worse, "forge" someone else's email adress.
By the way, I have previoulsy regisered my email address with Chowhound for their mailing list, but have never received an emailing from Chowhound, except the recent confirmation that my Good Will was received.
My recollection is that I registered my email address more than a month ago, anyone know if there would have been any mass mailings from Chowhound since then. I sure never learned about Chowhound's financial plight until I started reading the postings here about a week ago.
