It's worse in Newport - don't complain!
 
Agree totally with Tony & Tanya's suggestions, but my favorite is still Cafe Zoolu on Glenneyre - tiny, but some of the best swordfish ever! For over-the-top, but still fun Italian, we like Ti Amo - very romantic, but liked it better when it was Monique's.
 
BTW - The Surf & Sand Hotel's Splashes is a must-do for pre-dinner drinks or possibly lunch - there's no setting like it near. Breakfast & dinner are kindof dicey, but lunch is usually good and the setting spectacular. Ask for a table off the bar right over the beach.
