Message: | After a trip to Italy in '98, I fell in love with San Pellegrino Chinotto, a bitter orange soda that is definitely an acquired taste for most. I acquired it instantly, intrigued enough by the innocuous, soda-like color to try it, hooked at the first sip. Upon returning home, I searched in vain for the 1.5l bottles from which I chugged so liberally while traveling. All I could find were 6s of the small bottles, and they were about $5 for those at places like Bristol Farms and Gelson's. Lo and behold, during one of my regular search-and-destroy missions at Pic-n-Save last week, I spotted cases of the small bottle 6s being blown out for $1.49! I grabbed three, and will probably go back for more before the well gets near dry. Sure, they're still small bottles, but at that price, you can just keep grabbin'. MOTS: Don't give up hope, your sublimely obscure soda jones may be sated sooner than you think. |
