If you need other chow, here are some suggestions that are reasonable driving distance from Montrose:
Olive Branch [Persian], Foothill and Lauderdale, La Crescenta. Very good Persian food, great kabobs, and very attentive service. Their desserts, while very sweet, are also quite good.
Great Grill [burgers], Caņada Blvd. just north of Mountain St. and the split with Verdugo, behind the McDonalds, steps away from Glendale College. A total shack. Their Double Great Burger with fries combo - $4.50 last I checked - is absolutely incredible. How do they make any money?!
Gelsinger's Meats [sandwiches and salads], Honolulu Ave. just west of Verdugo/Montrose (in the Montrose Shopping Plaza) - wonderful sandwiches.
Berolina Bakery [bakery], Ocean View Blvd. just north of the split with Verdugo Rd. Swedish bakery with great cookies and incredible limpa bread and also eclairs.
Oven Fresh Bakery [bakery], Ocean View between Broadview and Honolulu. Armenian bakery. Fabulous sweet rolls (raisin brioches especially).
La Cabaņita [Mexican], Verdugo Rd. between Ocean View and Sunview. Tiny little Mexican place - great, GREAT mole sauce which they will put on any food you request it on.
Carousel [Lebanese], Brand & California (I think), downtown Glendale. Very high-end Lebanese with gracious service and wonderful food.
Let me know if that's enough. Also, Divina Cucina is on Verdugo Rd., just south of the Verdugo Blvd./Honolulu/Verdugo Rd./Montrose Rd. intersection.
One weird thing about Montrose is that intersection in the preceding paragraph. If you imagine a compass, the north road is Montrose Ave., the west is Honolulu Ave. (and the shopping park), the east is Verdugo Blvd. (goes toward the 2 freeway and Descanso Gdns.), and the south is Verdugo Rd. (goes into Glendale).
