The Bear Pit has, with out a doubt, the best BBQ I've eaten. They're located on Sepulveda Blvd. in Mission Hills just North of the 118 freeway. My favorite is the Bear Pit Special on garlic toast. It's a sandwich with beef and ham slow-cooked over wood. The sauce is smokey and only slightly sweet. It's a sawdust on the floor kind of place and has been around forever.
