Villa Italian, 3973 Sepulveda Blvd., Culver City has a fairly decent pie. It's not Neapolitan style, but it has a nice crispy 1/2 inch crust when "well done" is added to the order. Nice balance between cheese and sauce when "easy on the cheese" is added to the order. Are we being too picky? Not really. After a while, you learn how to ask for what you want! This pizza is cut into multiple rectangular pieces, about 4 X 6 inches each. The sauce tastes homemade. Really inexpensive, family style, very plain noisy Formica interior, good service. Italian music playing quietly in the background. Convenient lot Self-Parking. A major advantage: This is the best pizza I have found so far which takes kindly to reheating after being frozen. (Reheat frozen slices at 425 degrees for 17 minutes). Rating: 7-1/2 on a scale of 0-10. The quality of the pies can be inconsistent at times unless you keep after them to make it just the way you want. For instance, if you forget to ask for a well done pizza, easy on the cheese, more often than not you get an underbaked yeasty tasting slab of mixed flour and water piled outrageously high with gummy mozzarella and just a smattering of sauce.
