Both on Beverly Blvd. near Fairfax - the Authentic Cafe and Red are yummy with interesting menus. Don't know if Angeli on Melrose is still good, it used to be. Tea at the Checkers Hotel downtown is a meal in itself, you won't believe it. And there's always the funky old Pantry downtown. Mexico City on Hillhurst. May think of more.
