My favorite cheese-steak sandwich is at Grunion's Bar & Grill, 1501 N. Sepulveda Blvd, Manhattan Beach. It's gooey, but it's supposed to be sloppy. Grilled onions, melted white cheese (provolone?), crisp sub roll stuffed to overflowing with all this plus griddle-shredded beef. Comes with fries.
 
Eat right at the bar or in one of the booths, and order up a cold one to wash it down.
 
'Scuse me - my mouth is watering, it's lunchtime, and I'm off to go scarf one down.
