If you don't mind the drive up the coast to Malibu, I'd recommend the Beach Cafe on Pacific Coast Highway.
 
Not only can you get a nice margarita (although they don't specialize in Mexican food I believe they have quesadillas and the like) you can drink it *on* the sand.
 
They have quite a few tables and chairs right on the beach... A great place to spend an afternoon or watch the sunset.
