Good Luck. My suggestion is to be adventurous. Years ago, I went down to Anaheim St. and found a place with a great green papaya salad and some ok food. Looking around on the web, there seems to be a concentration of Cambodian places from around 600 to 1100 E. on Anaheim St (some Vietnamese too). You might check around there.
As well, the city of Long Beach has a Homeland Cultural Center on E. Anaheim (562) 570-1740 and someone there might be able to suggest a place. So should the Khmer Cultural Center (website: http://www.khmermarket.com/kcc/, phone, 562-621-1943).

Good luck.
