My wife had one of the reviewers for the LA Times in her store a few years ago and he made the point of recommending one of the better known chefs/restaurants to her because he was "good friends with her" and raved about the place. We went once, thought the food was so-so, the prices high and the service snotty. So much for going incognito. If anyone has been reading the recent stories in the press about "stock analysts" and their "unbiased" picks I think you can safely believe that all is not kosher in the restaurant review biz either. |
