Message: | I know we're not in the habit of touting such mainstream, known places, but I just have to sing the praises of this place. Since I hadn't been to Lawry's in over 6 years, in my mind it's always been a really expensive meal. But considering how much restaurant prices have gone up in the past few years, Lawry's doesn't seem so expensive now. I went last night for a birthday, and yes, did feel like a tourist, but had such a great time! With a reservation for 14, they had our table available immediately (already a huge plus) once we all arrived. The service was great - had three different servers coming by every 5 minutes or so (not intrusively). You get that great spinning salad included in the price of your 26-28 dollar prime rib dinner with two humungous sides, and of course, the Yorkshire pudding and great crusty bread. I had the English cut (three thin slices so you get more surface area for your gravy. The server said it's a little thin, but it was PLENTY of meat). I didnt' get to try the sundae for dessert (see thread link below), but would love to save room next time for some. BTW, I'd love to get one of the serving uniforms for Halloween this year. |
