Following up on a recent thread below, just came back from Open Sesame on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore. It is now a halal restaurant (I'm still not sure exactly what that is), and there is no beef shwarma (or any beef) served. The chicken version was good, though I've had better. The pita sandwich was stuffed full of meat, with a garlic yogurt sauce, tomatoes, onions, and, of all things, dill pickles. It was more than enough for lunch. One of my companions had the falafel and another the lamb. Both said they were excellent. The menu seemed to have changed a bit since the last time I was there - it seemed smaller, and I didn't see some of the salad and mixed appetizer plates I remembered. Maybe an ownership change? Still a good place for a quick and inexpensive Lebanese fix.
