Message: | foodwise, to me at least, it is best described as "competent" but nothing special. Descriptions of the food often are more interesting than the actual dish. Everything has a sauce thus the real food/flavors are masked. That said, prices are good so there is a "value" consideration that cannot be ignored. Originally Cafe Bizou was notable for a very friendly attitude towards wine, encouraging bring-your-own should you have special bottles at home. (Note: inquire when making reservations; it is never appreciated if you bring a bottle of Gallo that is on the house's wine list) Their wine list is much better than average and very fairly priced; in some cases slightly under-priced (which in L.A. can be construed as miraculous !). |
