The prices are hardly fabled -- it is hideously expensive. The food is not a fable -- it is truly a remarkable thing. Opt for the Chef's Dinner which is basically a prix fixe but you don't get a choice of what you get. Just tell them what you CAN'T or WON'T eat and they'll design the 4 or 6 courses around that.
 
SO worth every dime, IMHO. Comparatively, I think you get more food for the money here than you do at the Patina restaurants.
