Stubrik's is a throwback in a very good way to a day when every town had a reliable, informal but competent steakhouse. Dietary vogue be damned, last time I was there I enjoyed a perfectly done filet slathered with bleu cheese. A hedonist's delight. Yes, it's a little weird about the bread, but I'm used to being charged for extras at steak places. The A-1 thing was a purist gimmick that served its purpose, and now they can go about giving the customer what they want. A bona fide steak go-to in north OC.
