Message: | Just got back from brunch at 17St. Cafe. I looked over every glass, plate and piece of silverware today, all were spotlessly clean. We both had the tortilla soup, great as always. I had one of the specials, turkey burger with grilled mushrooms, onions, heirloom tomatoes, cheese and arugula. It came with their sweet potato french fries and house coleslaw. It was delicious. My wife had her regular chicken breast sandwich on rosemary bread. I never notice people who are there to be seen. In fact I am not sure what that means in relation to a place like 17th St.? For instance, almost every guy in there had shorts and a t-shirt on, me included. I just don't like the crowds, so we try to get there about 2:30 or so, and the place is just clearing out. I do acknowledge that it's not inexpensive. Today, including one coke and one beer the tab was $41, plus tip. But I don't feel I am overpaying for what I get, and that to me is what matters. |
