Connectix Corporation Web Site Privacy Policy

The protection of your privacy is of major concern to Connectix. This web page will give you a better understanding about how your privacy is protected while visiting our web site. I. Browsing, Use of Cookies

When you browse the Connectix web site, you do so anonymously. No personal information such as your name and e-mail address are collected automatically without prior notice. Connectix logs your IP address to better understand visitor traffic patterns and identify popular areas of our site. However, Connectix will not link your IP address to any personal identifiable information (PII).

Like other companies which operate web sites, Connectix employs cookies in certain instances on our site. Cookies are very small text files which web sites send to a user's internet browser to enhance or personalize that user's web site experience. Cookies are designed to identify a user which returns to a web site by saving user-specific preferences. Cookies cannot place a virus on your computer, nor can they retrieve your documents or your e-mail address from your computer.

Your internet browser can be set up to monitor or even prevent the use of cookies. Netscape 4 users can access these settings by clicking on the "Edit" option in the menu bar, selecting "Edit", then "Advanced" for all Cookie options. Internet Explorer 5 users running the Macintosh OS access these settings the same way as Netscape 4 Users. Internet Explorer 5 users running Windows(r) can access these settings by clicking "Tools" in the menu bar, then choosing "Internet Options", where under "General" they will find a "Temporary Files" settings option for Cookie preferences.



II. Privacy Protection Principles

To protect your privacy, Connectix complies with the following four principles:


1. Notice

In certain instances, like customer and product registration, free trials, surveys, or special offers, Connectix will ask you to provide personal information such as your name, your address, your e-mail address or other identifying information. If you buy Connectix products online, you will also be required to provide us with specific financial information for billing purposes.

We use this information in several ways: to help you quickly find software, services and information on our web site; to alert you to product upgrades, special offers, updated information or other new services on our web site; to process your orders more conveniently; and to help us create web content which is most relevant to you.


2. Consent

The general use or browsing of the Connectix' web site does not require you to provide any personally identifying information. However, you will not be able to access certain areas, participate in certain campaigns, or use active services, such as free trials which require registration, without providing this information. Connectix product registration requires the creation of a customer account. This is necessary to maintain a communication record with you the customer in order to provide you with the best possible product experience. Registered services, some of which can require additional payment, include, but are not limited to, access to our Knowledge Center Database, phone and email support, and certain areas of our online forums. By registering your product you are opting in to receive periodic email notifications about product upgrades, support information, and other tools. You may choose to opt out of these types of communications by deselecting the "Notify Me..." checkbox on the respective section of the Create a New User Account registration form; consequently, you will not be contacted by a Connectix representative unless you first intiate the request via this online product support system or other Connectix web site email links.

Connectix periodically sends out product promotional information or announcements to its registered customers to keep them appraised of special offers or programs. Connectix, will on occasion make its list of registered users available to our valued marketing partners which offer quality goods and services that might be of interest to you. If you do not want Connectix to make your registration information available to these third parties, you may opt out by deselecting the checkbox on the respective section of the Create a New User Account registration form.


3. Access

You may access the personal information from your customer account online or by written request. This way you can update your contact information or check its accuracy. Online access is available from your web browser via a Login ID and Password you define. For written requests, we require customers to send us a written, signed request, stating at least their full name, physical address and e-mail address, along with a high-quality copy of a valid picture ID. Customers making written requests are contacted by e-mail and sent their collected personal information for review.
