The silence in the bedroom was deafening. The sun rose, the sun set, and finally, a word was spoken.
But there was no one left to hear it.

I can tell. I know plenty of people with crappy jobs, and I know how I feel at the end of a day when my current job has been particularly rotten. I'd hate to have to deal with that every day. |

Oooo, Jamie--I think this is a good decision. Having a crappy job just sucks everything out of you. |

I wound up having to cancel the interview, as I couldn't get there from here (I don't drive, and would have had to walk along a busy stretch of sidewalkless highway-style bridge, doubtless setting off my not-quite-vertigo.) Which is just as well, as I don't think sales is really for me. |

I've got an interview with UPS on Friday morning, for an entry level sales rep position. I have a bunch of resumes out as I prepare to get my degree (knock on wood), but this is the only one to have gotten back to me so far. |

Jamie - thanks for the heads up and recommendation of Ad-aware. I ran it last night and found all sorts of weird stuff. (I would thank Jaws too, but I don't know where his topic is) |

And today I received a copy of Vessel of Heaven in the mail. I didn't realize that it was going to be on a business-card style CD-R. Neat! |

Let's try that again. Vessel of Heaven is due out as an e-book from Jintsu Etexts in the very near future. It was announced as February, but I just got the final version to proof last night, so it may be early March. |

I'm really hoping too. Right now, I'm trying to figure out how my finances will work. Membership alone is the equivalent of two weeks' salary for me. |

Thought I should mention in my own topic, as well as elsewhere, that my short story "The Solitary Loafer" is up at The Fortean Bureau. That's www.forteanbureau.com, if I boobed up the HTML. |

Really? Hmm. Interesting... I wonder if anyone ever let Jeff Rovin know. (Of the Ultimate Guide to Nintendo Games series, where I got that information.) |

By the way Jamie, River City Ransom is beatable -- that fence you were talking about gave me pause at first, then I checked the faq and saw I hadn't encountered all the bossess so I went back and found them, finished them and then when I returned to the fence, the guard Ivan came out. I beat Ivan, went inside and went the rest of the way. No sweat. |

Thanks, Terry and Lori. It feels great to be done, and the really surprising thing is that I think, with some polishing, it might actually stand a chance out there in the Big Bad World. |

Hmm... I don't have any reliable references handy, so I'll just say that it's one of the more significant numbers out there, IIRC. At least in some circles. |
