So,
you want to know all about me, Darlena aka Blake? Well, the
first thing I have to tell you is I don't live nearly as interesting
of a life as my heroines do.
Unlike One True Love's Christina, traipsing through glamorous
London, England, I was born in a small town in the Midwest,
called Springfield. The most interesting thing about my birth
was the fact that my mother, Holly, wasn't married to my father,
Roger, at the time - but, that's their scandal not mine.
After my father was presumed dead when I was a little girl (I
must have cried for a year, I loved him so much), my mother
and I moved to Europe and it was one boarding school after another
for me. But you know what? All those movies and books about
Swiss boarding schools aren't exactly truthful. The one I went
to was actually pretty dull. No adventure, no romance, no middle
of the night escapades (unless you count raiding the kitchen
for extra ice cream an actual escapade, rather than a sweet-tooth-inspired
attempt to keep boredom at bay). The way I see it, my life didn't
really begin until I grew up and moved back to Springfield.
Because Springfield is where I met my prince - Ross Marler,
Attorney at Law.
(I also kissed what I think was more than the average number
of frogs, but, in the end, it all worked out - I'm still friends
with all of my ex's and even with some of their current wives,
and, if I hadn't met all the wrong-for-me men first, well then,
I wouldn't have been able to appreciate Ross as much as I do.)
Sigh… What can I tell you about Ross, except that he's perfect.
He's handsome, he's smart, he's funny (sometimes when he means
to be, sometimes not) and he's a great dad to our kids, twins
Kevin and Jason and little Clarissa.
We accidentally got divorced a few years ago, but, that was
all my fault, not Ross's. And then, when we were finally all
set to get remarried, I found out that Ross had had an affair
(you can read all about that sorry chapter in our lives, here),
which sort of put the kebosh on "Happily Ever After".
Still, we're trying to work things out, taking life one day
at a time.
We still love each other. We're just not quite sure what comes
next...
