Your Shirt Could Be  WORTH $1,000! The Atlanta Journal-Constitution 2003 Peachtree Road Race DESIGN COMPETTION INFORMATION

WHO'S THE MOST CELEBRATED ARTIST IN ATLANTA EVERY FOURTH OF JULY?
The one who does the design for the coveted Peachtree Road Race T-Shirt, of course. It's Atlanta's most popular annual event, involving 55,000 runners and multitudes of their friends and well-wishers.  The deadline to enter was February 28, 2003.  Our judges picked five finalists from all entries received and the public will choose their favorite from among those five. Click here to see the five final designs for 2003 and voting information.  The winning designer gets a $1,000 cash award and the four other designers win $100 each.

The winning shirt design remaines a secret until race day, July 4th!

Official Rules for 2003: 1. Designs should measure 12"x12." 2. Designs must be submitted on unlined white paper or illustration board. Designs must be executed in one of the following color media:  color markers, paint, color pencils, inks, chalks or crayons. 3. An official entry form (or facsimile) must be submitted with each design. DO NOT affix entry form to artwork. 4. DO NOT write on front or back of artwork. 5. Designs should include the race title, "Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race." It should be located at the top of the design. The word "Peachtree" should be at least 2" high. 6. Color copies of original designs will be accepted. 7. Designs may be hand-drawn or designed on a computer, but "clip art" is not allowed. 8. All entries must be submitted together. Limit three entries per person. 9. Designs should be sent to AJC Peachtree Road Race T-Shirt Contest, Atlanta Track Club, P.O. Box 12109, Atlanta, GA 30355.

No purchase necessary. Contest open to Georgia residents 12 and older, except employees of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Track Club, and their immediate families. Designs will be judged by representatives of the Atlanta Track Club, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Atlanta College of Art. Five finalists' designs will be selected and published in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The winning design will be selected by the public. The person who submits the winning design will receive $1,000 and will have their design reproduced on the 2003 Peachtree Road Race T-Shirts. The four finalists who are not selected will each receive $100. The winning design becomes the property of the Atlanta Track Club and may be modified as necessary. The winning design will have sponsor logos added. Sponsor logo placement is at the discretion of the Atlanta Track Club. Designs will not be returned. Not responsible for lost entries. Some restrictions apply. Decisions of the judges is final. All entries must be postmarked by February 28, 2003.
