 Q.What Holy Days of Obligation require my participation at Mass?
 
 A.January 1 (Mary, the Mother of God) is a day of obligation only when it falls on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Sunday (January 1, 2005 is not a holy day of obligation).

August 15 (Feast of the Assumption) is a day of obligation only when it falls on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Sunday. (The feast falls on a Monday in 2005).

November 1 (All Saints) is a day of obligation only when it falls on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Sunday. (November 1, 2005 will be a holy day of obligation.)

December 8 (Immaculate Conception)is always a day of obligation, except in years when December 8 falls on Sunday and the solemnity is observed on December 9.

Christmas, December 25, is always a day of obligation.

In the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, the solemnity of Ascension Thursday is observed on the seventh Sunday of Easter, and the previous Thursday is not a day of obligation. The Solemnity of Ascension will be observed in 2005 on Sunday, May 8, 2005.

Holy Days of Obligation for 2005 are:
November 1
December 8
