Recently it was brought to the attention of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Ad Hoc Committee for the Review of Scripture Translations that a translation of the Holy Bible publushed by Tyndale House Publishers, Inc. is bring promoted as a "Catholic Reference Edition," without the requisite ecclesiastical approbation. The New Living Translation of the sacred scriptures has not been approved by the episcopal conference of by the Holy See, as is required by canon 825 § of the Code of Canon Law.
